Full Album Release Date: August 2023

This piece is the full artwork created for Nina de Vitry’s first album, ‘What You Feel is Real’. When faced with the task of creating a piece to represent the full album I wanted to focus on the raw emotion Nina brings to the table with each song.

We grew up together and found common ground in being covered in mud, being considered unusual, and having strong families rooted in music and art. Knowing our backgrounds, it was important to bring a bit of wildness into the design - showing as common plants found in our hometown backyards. Intricately weaving everything together was a reflection of the complexity of emotion, and how every day brings new growth and new connections.

This cover zooms in on two wildflowers. One front facing, and one turning away. Although both vibrant and full of beauty, the open that chooses to face away from the light is in shadow and carries less of it’s natural beauty.

This cover highlights the songs theme of social justice and the cyclical nature of history. With this song, Nina aims to share her feelings on the power of togetherness against the face of injustice.

This cover explores the ebb and flow of comfort with oneself. While seemingly natural, it can take great work to sit in comfort with one’s self.

Being the most sultry song on the album - with a focus on casual romance, this cover highlights the natural sexiness of fruit. Specifically wild strawberries, who grow where they want.
